For the second year running students from Takasaki Beauty Mode College visited Oracle to look and gain an insight into the UK hair and beauty industry.
Takasaki students worked along side Oracle learners within theory and practical lessons to exchange UK and Japanese techniques. The Japanese students throughout their training are not allowed in Japan to work on clients, but instead have to practice their techniques on block heads until they are completely qualified. So the experience to work in a salon environment teaming up with the UK learners is a great opportunity. Deliverers at Oracle incorporated demonstrations, the latest 3D technology in theory lessons and language activities to encourage communications skills, UK learners also learnt and gained an insight to the world of hair and beauty in Japan.

Sally Marsh and Diane Logan the two owner Directors of Oracle, then took the Japanese director for a tour around York, ending the day with an evening meal also inviting UK Habia Chief Executive Alan Goldsbro and Habia Director of Development of Standards Jane Goldsbro to discuss future developments.
One of Oracle learners ‘Ashley Oliver’ has already been lucky enough to experience a 2 week internship in July this year working alongside Takasaki Beauty Mode College ‘check out Ashley video journal link of her experience’ Japanese Director expressed their thanks and how much the Japanese students had really enjoyed their stay in the UK, and could see the real benefit to both Japanese and UK learners and how a strong link had now been forged between Takasaki and Oracle. Diane Logan comments, ‘ the UK learners really embraced the experience and we were really proud of their professionalism, both Oracle Apprenticeship learners and learners on schools programmes were involved. They worked well together even with the language barrier to create some great looks in practical. Its a fabulous opportunity for all learners concerned to widen their horizons and helps them as individuals to develop personally and professionally. This gives all learners a glimpse of what is available within the exciting world of hair and beauty. ’
Diane Logan also received an award at Salon International presented by UK Habia Chief Executive Alan Goldsbro on behalf of Habia Japan for the outstanding contribution for international exchange programmes.
